In this, the last part of our series of posts about the Epcot theme park in Orlando’s Walt Disney World Resort, we take a look at the final two pavilions that you can visit in the World Showcase area of the park: the United Kingdom pavilion and the Canada pavilion.
The United Kingdom Pavilion
The United Kingdom pavilion includes a cobbled street and a range of buildings designed as examples of British architecture, including a building based on Hampton Court and a replica of Anne Hathaway’s Cottage.
There are two dining venues within the United Kingdom pavilion: the Rose & Crown Pub Dining Room and the Yorkshire County Fish Shop.
The Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room is a table-service restaurant, which is open for both lunch and dinner. Its menu includes a range of traditional British dishes, including bangers & mash, cottage pie, fish & chips, roast beef and yorkshire puddings, bakewell tart and sticky toffee pudding. The bar serves “pub grub” and a range of ales, lagers, ciders. Entertainment is provided by a piano player known as “the Hat Lady”.
The Yorkshire County Fish Shop is a counter-service restaurant with a menu that includes Harry Ramsden’s Fish & Chips and a selection of drinks, including Bass Ale.
There are no rides in the United Kingdom pavilion, but younger children will enjoy exploring Tigger’s Maze, and you may be able to catch performances by Beatles covers band “The British Invasion” and improvisation group “The World Showcase Players”.
There are a number of shops within the pavilion where you can buy a wide range of British-themed souvenirs to take back to your rental car or hotel. For example, you’ll find rugby and football-themed merchandise in “The Sportsman’s Shop”, teapots, tea and biscuits in “The Tea Caddy”, Beatles merchandise and beer glasses in “The Crown and Crest, and toys swords and shields in “The Toy Soldier”.
The Canada Pavilion
The final pavilion in the World Showcase area of Epcot is the Canada pavilion. Designed to reflect Canada’s diverse scenery, it includes Canadian-style buildings, maple leaf motifs, a 30-ft tall waterfall and beautiful gardens.
There are no rides within the Canada pavilion, but you can see the Circlevision 360 film presentation, O Canada!, which includes footage of some of the country’s most famous attractions, including the Niagara Falls. You can also watch a performance by Celtic rock band “Off Kilter”.
There are two main stores within the Canada pavilion: The Northwest Mercantile and The Trading Post. You can a wide range of Canadian-themed products within these stores, including maple syrup, Canadian ice hockey gear, toys and folk art pieces.
There is one restaurant within the pavilion, Le Cellier Steakhouse. It’s one of the most popular restaurants in Epcot and its menu includes dishes such as Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, Pan-seared King Salmon, New York Strip Steak and Maple Creme Brulee, along with a range of Canadian beers and wines.
