Less Known But Equally Amazing Holiday Destinations in Europe
Most people are familiar with holiday destinations like Paris, Rome, London, Madrid and Nice. What many don’t know is that there are literally hundreds of holiday destinations that aren’t as popular, yet are still exquisite holiday destinations. Many of these places are known only to seasoned tourists and people looking for something unique or different and away from the crowds. If this is your dream, then the following holiday destinations will surely appeal to you.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
When most people think of travelling or going on a vacation, Amsterdam doesn’t readily come to mind. As a result, it is less trafficked and less visited. And that’s a good thing too because you can easily have a fun holiday without worrying about tourist crowds and other problems associated with highly populated tourist destinations like Madrid and Paris.
Amsterdam is an amazing city with lots of waterways, excellent laid back lifestyle, museums and architectural pieces, has close proximity to exclusive beaches, safe and an amazingly romantic city. And it’s not very expensive to stay there either. You can easily find fully furnished and affordable Amsterdam apartments that are up for lease or rent during your holidays there.
Gran Canaria in Spain
Located among the Canary Islands in Spain, the Gran Canaria is a spectacular island with lots of tourist attractions for people of all interests and ages. Those looking to relax can enjoy the beaches while those looking for adventure can attempt to climb or conquer some of its craggy heights and surfaces. The golden brown sand is often an instant hit with the kids who can spend all day playing there. Tourists can also snorkel, scuba dive and kayak in the blue crystalline waters surrounding the island. Like I said, it may not be as popular as Madrid or Barcelona, but it’s totally worth the trip and then some.
Stockholm in Sweden
I’m willing to bet that you’ve never thought of Sweden as a tourist destination. But, there are a select few who routinely visit Stockholm for its amazing diversity and contemporary tourist attractions. The Swedish city boasts of an active gaming industry, impressive architecture, beautiful landscapes, stunning vistas and friendly locals. A truly multicultural city, tourists who visit Stockholm almost always visit again just to enjoy the beauty and serenity.
Valletta in Malta
While Valletta may be one of the tiniest capitals in Europe, it boasts of an amazing array of tourist attractions. Tourists who have visited tend to describe the city as a “big package that comes in small sizes”. Unfortunately, if you don’t visit, you most likely wouldn’t understand what they mean by that.
Valletta is a truly beautiful city with such cultural richness and depth. The surrounding views of its Mediterranean coastlines will take your breath away while its charming Victorian era architecture, serenity and tranquillity will surely turn it into one of those places you’ll never forget.
As you can see, these aren’t your typical getaway spots, but I assure you that a trip to one or more of these places is bound to provide you with a rewarding experience.
