Mexico is famous for endless white beaches, ancient ruins and being a country that knows how to party. Cancun is one of the hottest tourist destinations because it can offer all three. Chichen Itza, in the Yucatan province of Mexico, is only a five hour round trip and is one of the most famous ancient ruins in the world, once occupied by the Mayans. However if you only have 48 hours in this city then a day trip to Chichen Itza would have to be postponed until you have more time to take in this amazing sight. So here is an incredible itinerary for your 48 hours in Cancun.
First Day
It’s imperative to make the most of your 48 hour trip, so wake up early. Be ready to leave at 9 o’clock as there is a coach coming to collect you and take you to the largest zip line circuit in North America. This five hour activity includes 12 zip lines with a combined distance of over 2 miles. Amazing views of the jungle along the Cancun Riviera are plentiful, and this activity is one you don’t want to miss.
When you return to the hotel you can take a quick shower and head to the shore where you will be picked up by boat and taken for a Dolphin swimming experience about 9 miles from the coast, close to Isla Mujeres. This will be a great experience and a nice way to relax before an evening of entertainment.
When the evening arrives, you can head out to get some authentic Mexican food as there is no shortage of Mexican restaurants in this town. After taking in some food, be prepared to party like never before as you go on a 6 hour VIP nightclub tour with unlimited drinks.
Day Two
You may feel as though you need to spend the day in bed recovering from the night before, but that’s not possible. Wake up early again and head to the white sandy beaches that hug the coastline. Pick out a sun lounger and continue your recovery from the night before, when you feel ready for it there is a parasailing adventure waiting for you. This will provide you with excellent views of the Cancun attractions and the endless white sandy shores.
After lunch it is time to get back aboard a boat as you head out into the Gulf of Mexico with an expert in search of the Mexican Whale Shark. This is going to be a diving experience you won’t forget as you get in the water with these enormous creatures.
When you return from the diving adventure it will be time to head out into the city and enjoy more incredible food before partying the night away again. Make sure you don’t stay out too late though as your flight leaves early in the morning!
